Crickett’s Statement of Faith
I believe the Bible was verbally inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings, and that Scripture is of supreme authority in faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21)
I believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Matthew 28:19)
I believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is fully God and fully man. (Luke 1:31–35)
I believe man was created in the image of God, that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. All human beings have a sin nature. (Genesis 1:26–27; Genesis 3:6; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12)
I believe that Jesus died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood. (John 3:16; Romans 6:23; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 John 4:10)
I believe that the Holy Spirit comes to indwell every believer at the point of salvation, empowering, guiding, and sealing them in Christ. (John 14:16–17; Romans 8:9–11; Ephesians 1:13; 2 Corinthians 1:21–22)
I believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord and His ascension into heaven, where He is our High Priest and Advocate. (1 Cor. 15:3-4; Hebrews 4:14–16, 1 John 2:1–2)
I believe that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will personally return in His full glory to judge the world and set up His eternal Kingdom. (Daniel 2:44; Matthew 24:29–31, 36; 25:31–32)
I believe that salvation is by faith alone, through grace alone, and in Jesus Christ alone. (Ephesians 2:8–9)
I believe that those who are saved by grace are kept secure by grace forever because salvation is a gift of God, and Jesus’ blood atones for past, present, and future sins. (Romans 3:23–25; John 10:27–28)
I believe in the resurrection of the body which will result in eternal life in Heaven for all true believers and eternal punishment in hell for all unbelievers. (Matthew 25:46; John 5:25-29; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; 2 Thessalonians 1:6–10)
