Change Is Hard

Dog Waiting in CarChange is hard. I admit I don’t always look forward to change because it’s more comfortable to stay with what I’m used to and what I know. After all, I’ve eaten Eggo waffles for breakfast almost every morning for 15+ years and I don’t want to change!

But change is good for us. This week I changed the design of my website. It was a hard, long process, but in the end, I feel it was worth the effort. (For those of you who get this post delivered to your email, I invite you to take a look at the new website at www.crickettkeeth.com.

Yes, change is hard, but change is good for us.

  • Change shakes me out of my status quo and moves me forward to new and better things.
  • Change stretches me. I don’t know what’s ahead and how it’s going to look, but stretching is good for me. It makes me walk by faith, not by sight.
  • Change draws me into a deeper dependence on the Lord because I know I need to hold His hand tightly as I navigate any changes in my life. I need Him to walk me through the unfamiliar.

Change is inevitable. Our bodies change, our families change, our homes change, our health changes, our friends change, our churches change, and our jobs change. But there is one change that I am looking forward to – that day when we’re all changed. “Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52).

We know that day is coming, so why not embrace change now in preparation for that eternal change?

Change is hard. It is inevitable, but it is good for us. How do you feel about change?

  1. I love the new look, Crickett! It’s the content that makes your blog so helpful, of course, but the changes you’ve made look great.

  2. Thanks, Jim! I can’t wait to see your new site! Enjoy Orange beach!

  3. I like your new website. I agree, change is hard, but it’s often beneficial. It’s great that we lean upon a God that never changes, though…He’s always the same, dependable refuge we need.

  4. Very well said, Mandy. He is dependable. Thanks for checking out the new website, too.

  5. I like it—easily readable—-all info right at hand. Passionate Pursuit—it’s what life is all about. For those pursuing Christ, this will continue to be a “right on the mark” blog. That part hasn’t changed and that’s a good thing.

  6. Thanks, Dotsy.
