The years 2020 and 2021 have been challenging. Just when I say, “It can’t get any worse,” something happens that proves me wrong. It has been a season that has kept me on my knees looking to Him for strength, wisdom, and guidance. Our churches have been stretched as we’ve had to adjust the way we do ministry in a social distancing environment.

There’s so much conflicting information out there on the news and social media and the internet that it’s hard to know what to believe these days. Who’s right? How do we make decisions when we’re not sure whose words to believe?

God reminds me in these difficult times that He is trustworthy. His Word is truth, and I can trust what He says.

He loves me. (John 3:16)

He will provide for me. (Phil. 4:19)

He is in control. (Col. 2:9–10)

He causes all things to work together for good for those who love Him. (Rom. 8:28)

He will never leave me. (Heb. 13:5)

When I find myself overwhelmed with worry and anxiety by present circumstances, I find peace and strength in His Word—not the words of the world.

As we worship our risen Savior this Easter, let’s keep our focus on Him and all He has done for us. If He loved us enough to die in our place, don’t you think He loves us enough to carry us through every challenge we face?

Take a few minutes and sing the words of that classic hymn, Because He Lives. (Watching this video moves me to worship.)
